Meet Mr. Jersey

It was July 21, 2006 when this little pup was born. He traveled on a plane from Minnesota into Dulles International to make his home at Virginia (Fort Eustis). Soon after his arrival at a ripe age of 17-weeks old he jumped from the kitchen table to fracture his right rear leg. In the Fall of 2007 Mr. Jersey's residency was transferred from Virginia to New Jersey and he became a bona fide resident of Essex County ... hunting dog parks and the best fireplugs all over!

A Rat Terrier

The Rat Terrier is an American dog breed that is an intelligent, active little dog that is equally cherished as a house helper and a family pet. Although often mistaken for a Jack Russell Terrier, the Rat Terrier has a different profile and a very different temperament. Very inquisitive and lively. This affectionate dog makes an excellent companion for those who will enjoy an energetic dog. They are good with children, especially if they are raised with them from puppyhood. They are, for the most part friendly with strangers. Rat Terriers make good watchdogs. These dogs are quick and very playful and are not yappers. The temperament of these dogs is pure terrier. The lively, feisty, fearless nature can be found in the best of terriers. They are eager to please and respond and pick training up faster than most dogs. The Rat terrier is a very well mannered, well rounded dog. They are easy to train and very eager to learn and to please their owner. They love to go with you and to do what you do.
